All work and no play allegedly makes us all rather dull and lord knows that in 2020 we need a bit of fun. To that our resident Hospitality Liaison and mixologist extrodinnaire Thabiso Molonyane is giving us a monthly dose of simple DIY cocktails that well help you stay well lubricated while remaining socially distanced. Making your own cocktails is also a great way to take your mind off of how crazy this year has been. Who knows it could be your first step to becoming an internationally known mixologist. So why not try making this delicious classic: The Negroni.

Origin Story:
Legend has it that this popular cocktail was originally invented in Florence Italy at the Cafe Casoni back in 1919. Apparently Count Camilla Negroni asked his friend, who was also the bartender, to strengthen his cocktail. In accordance with his wishes the bartender replaced the soda water that usually came with his drink, with gin. Thus the Negroni was born.
Ingredients:
- Gin – 25ml
- Martini Rosso – 25 ml
- Campari – 25ml
Method:
Pop all of your ingredients into a tumbler, stir and garnish with an orange peel. Negroni’s are perfect for an indoor quarantine date where you need to impress the object of your affection.
