Latest Stats SA numbers reveal a worsening youth unemployment crisis

Stats SA’s latest Quarterly Labour Market Survey for Q4 of 2020 labour market survey results are sobering.

Of the 39 million work force only a small proportion is currently employed

333 000 more people were employed in Q4:2020 than in Q3:2020

Youth continue to have the highest unemployment with the 15 to 24 year old group recording a staggering 63,2% unemployment rate

Youth aged 15-24 years and 25-34 years recorded the highest #unemployment rates of 63,2% and 41,2% respectively.
