5 minutes with DJ Zinhle

DJ and successful businesswoman DJ Zinhle recently launched an extension to her hit ERA by DJ Zinhle accessories range with the addition of sunglasses. We spent 5 minutes with her to talk about what goes into launching a sunglass range.

How long has the sunglass range been in the making? 
It’s been a solid year now of bringing this vision to life and I’m so happy with the results. 

What was the most important aspect you had to get right in the process of creating this range? 
I’m really big on creating quality products, so having multiple samples made up to get the right quality was most important for me. 

What has been the most exciting part of the development of the range?
For me it was the design aspect.  It’s really dope when you see your vision come to life. 

What was the most difficult part of putting the range together?
Having to choose the final selection for the range was a tough job but I’m happy with the overall range. It’s so diverse and fits so many face shapes which I felt was important. 

Who is the range for/targeted at? 
Definitely someone who is aspirational, young, edgy and has dope style, basically me haha!

Where else do you want to take Era by DJ Zinhle in addition to the watches, accessories and now sunglasses? 
My team is a well rounded group of individuals who share my vision, so with them by my side, I know that the the sky is the limit. 

What advice would you give to a young person wanting to get into the accessories business? 
Plan well, research thoroughly and take risks but never compromise on quality.
